1903 Algonquin Park fishing licence in glass and natural dark stained woden frame. licence number 343. dated May 4th 1903.Signed by park superintendent G.W. Bartlett, bleonging to L.H. (Lawrence Hurt) Sitwell - a Lieutenant Colonel in the Canadian Army in the late 1800s until his passing in 1918. At the top of the licence it reads: "The Algonquin National Park of Ontario". On the back fo the frame in blue ink reads: "Deptarment of Lands and Forests", "presented by N.E.H. (Norman Edward Hurt) Sitwell, conservation officer, Toronto ON, June 1st 1957"
-the license was framed by the donor's father (N.E.H. Sitwell) to present to the Archives. Norman Edward Hurt Sitwell was one of the first Game wardens in Ontario - he passed in 1960.
